Description
A beautiful set of six Victorian cranberry wine glasses which date to c1880.

They have cranberry cup bowls above clear plain stems which have polished pontils. Cranberry glass or “Ruby red” if you prefer was made by the addition of gold chloride to the molten glass. It was a painstaking process requiring multiple craftsmen and was very expensive to produce. It was made extensively in the Black Country. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. they measure 4 ¾ inches tall with 2 inch bowls and 2 1/8 inch feet.
A very nice set in excellent condition.
