The golden age of coaching was from 1800 to 1830 in Britain. the decline after 1830 being brought about by the advent of the railways. The manner in which the stem is attached to both the foot and the bowl is consistent with the period 1820 to 1840. earlier examples we have seen have heavy capstan stems.
It stands 9 3/8th inches tall with a 7 3/8th inch bowl and 5 1/4 inch foot. Punch bowls are rarely used and tend to survive in good condition for this simple fact.
This is a very heavy glass at 3 1/4lbs and is a real “statement” piece for the dining table.
