Description
A large Victorian Glass Rummer c1870 with a copious bucket bowl with a solid section at it’s base and slice cuts. The bowl stands on a thick baluster knop stem above a plain foot with has gadget tool marks on the underside of the foot. The ‘Gadget’ was a tool used between 1860 and approx. 1880 to hold the foot of the glass while the bowl was finished. The tool left X or Y or sometimes just a / type crease on the underside of the foot. The marks are not evident after 1880 subsequent to changes in manufacture.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 1/8 inches tall with a 3 ¼ inch bowl and 2 7/8 inch foot.
