Description
A very pleasing Victorian rummer c1870 with a long round funnel bowl above a slice cut baluster knop on a plain foot. has gadget tool marks on the underside of the foot. The ‘Gadget’ was a tool used between 1860 and approx. 1880 to hold the foot of ta glass whilst the bowl was finished. The tool left X or Y or sometimes just a / type crease on the underside of the foot which allows you to date these glases quiet accurately. They disappear after 1880 as manufacturing techniques changed
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 inches tall with a 2 5/8 inch bowl and 2 7/8 inch foot.
