Description
A fine Victorian Cut Glass Rummer c1870 which has a large round funnel bowl with alternating cut and polished panels which swirl down and around the bowl. The cut panels have exceptional star hob nail and cross cut diamonds with the polished panels shimmering in-between. A very stunning and unusual design. Sits on a hexagonal slice cut stem above a petal and star cut foot.
We were unable to establish who actually made this glass but the very fine workmanship form and style and similar designs on glass held at the Black Country museum indicate Thomas Webb.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. the glass measures 6 ½ inches tall with a 3 ¼ inch bowl and 3 ¼ inch foot.
