Condition : Excellent. no chips or cracks. Some mossing to the underside of the foot as anticipated.

This glass used in the manufacture has been “washed” or doped. This process was undertaken to de-colourise the glass. In this case it has been over-doped. hence the amethyst hue resulting from excess manganese oxides.
This is a robust and weighty example. probably made for the tavern trade. The size of bowls on rummers make them the most suitable Victorian drinking glass for modern consumption. This example has a bucket shaped bowl with a capstan type stem.
