The long S ⌠ fell out of use in typography in Britain by 1820. However it was clearly used by engravers until a later date who preserved this in he word Succe⌠s . We could not find any reference in the Lloyds register to a sloop called the Donington, there was however a pub in Donington near Spalding called the sloop. Numerous sailing boats called wherries were used on the fenland waterways for transporting grain and sugar beet.
