Heading : 19th century Nailsea milk glass flask
Date : c1840
Period : Victorian
Origin : English
Colour : White milk glass with light blue internal trailing
Body : Ovoid in shape. ribbed and thickened pouring rim which would originally have held a cork stopper.  
Body Features : Pulled up internal trailing
Pontil : Snapped
Glass Type : Lead
Size : 6 ¼ inches tall and approx. 3 ¼ inches in diameter
Condition : Excellent

Weight : 190 Grams

Additional Information : Established by John Robert Lucas in 1788 the Nailsea glassworks was operational in Somerset. England until 1873. This glass works specialised in bottle glass and by 1835 became the fourth largest of its kind in the UK.
