Description
A superb pair of Victorian Shaft & Globe Decanters by Val Saint Lambert c.1895.
The have their original lapidary stoppers above facet cut necks with an array of diamond. hobnail and prism cutting to the globe above star cut feet.
Clean and clear they are in truly superb condition with no chips cracks or restoration. Under an eye glass there are a few tiny grazes where they have brushed with other glass which is perfectly normal and acceptable. Some of the best cutting we have seen. Identical examples are to be found on page 427 plate 598 of ‘The Decanter’ An illustrated history of glass from 1650 by Andy McConnell.
They measure 12 inches tall which includes the stoppers.
