A Schappshund Or Gin Pig c1900

Heading : The English term is “Gin Pig” however this is a “Schnappshund”

Stopper : Cork and pewter on a chain. The finial in the shape of a tongue
Pontil : Rough pontil mark on the chest
Glass Type : Lead free
Size :    26cm length. 20cm height.
Condition : Excellent. There is a little brown scorch mark inside the glass.

Schnappshund. the name alone conveys the original purpose. Schnapps . gin. white dog moonshine. hair of the dog… a great talking point and fun to use.
