Additional Information : Established by John Robert Lucas in 1788 the Nailsea glassworks was operational in Somerset. England until 1873. This glass works specialised in bottle glass and by 1835 became the fourth largest of its kind in the UK.This type of glass was made at multiple factories from Alloa to Bristol and Forfar to Sunderland and Stourbridge. Thet are always referred to as Nailsea type but few can be attributed to the West country diretcly
