Colour : Clear with internal white pulled up decoration and blue applied rim
Pontil : Sand or “sticky ball”
Glass Type : Lead
Size : 25cm tall with a 9.2cm rim and approx 13cm in diameter
Condition : Excellent. no chips or cracks. clean and clear
Restoration : None
Weight : 1050 grams
Additional Information : Established by John Robert Lucas in 1788 the Nailsea glassworks was operational in Somerset. England until 1873. This type of decoration is invariably described as being Nailsea or Nailsea type. not all were manufactured at Nailsea. This has an equal probability of being manufactured in Alloa. This is an excellent large example. rarely found. the applied blue rim and trailing also being most unusual.
