There was a Jewellers shop in the “Arcade” . St Peter Port Guernsey owner by one Alphonse Roger. This is a typical milk can shape and suspect that these were made on the mainland and then branded in Guernsey by the retailer. There was an active tourist trade and this may have been nothing more than a costly momento. It does accurately measure one gill.
We did question if this may have been intended to be a creamer. however all other examples retailed by the same maker had a cover and a pouring lip. in addition this capacity was not specified. This is a novelty spirit measure
