The inflence of Joseph Keller and Frederick Kny within the design is most evident. We have recently been reading about Christopher Dresser who despised this elaborate decoration as did John Ruskin. We would bring their views into question. this is an exemplar of fine copper wheel engraving.
We are unsure if this was intended to be a biscuit barrel. a tobacco jar or simply a stunning piece of decorative glass.
