Originally used to keep comestibles cool at the dining table. When filled with ice they wil hold six oysters. native or rock. A bowl may also be stood on the base and ice packed around to chill the butter or dessert therein. Alternatively simply stand your wine rinser upon this to catch drips of condensation from the rinser or from the wine glass as it is cleaned. We believe thay would make excellent salad plates
