Description
A Victorian glass horn c1870 with fine wrythen moulding. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 7 ½ inches tall.
I have a good friend who has a collection of these horns (amongst many other strange and wonderful glass items) including a rare blue wrythen example. This does work. if you know how to blow a horn and they were made for parades and parties. We have never seen a plain example. they are invariably wrythened
You sometimes find them advertised as ‘hearing aids’ but I’m pretty sure that is confined to the ‘Broons’ cartoon sketch books. They were made to be played.
