Colour : Clear with gilding and cranberry colouring
Bowl : Ovular conical shape. Alternating bands of polished and acid cutfrosted glass. In the frosted sections there are raised polished gilded poppies. in the clear section there are sunken gilded and cranberry coloured poppies. The stamens on the sunken poppies are raised and polished with gilt detail. on the frosted poppies they are sunken and frosted with cranberry detail. The quality is extraordinary – the work of a master.
Pontil : Polished – incised Daum Nancy signature with the Cross of Loraine.

This is a truly stunning piece of early Daum art glass. they only started producing art glass after Antonin Daum’s 1890 illness. The quality is extra ordinary and the attention to detail is a mark of a truly obsessive. and talented artist.
