Facet cut stems were amongst the earliest stem forms of Georgian drinking glass to have polished pontils. Early examples. such as these. still had a snapped pontil. Traditional port glasses from the 18th century are functional and beautiful. More commonly seen on Georgian wine glasses the facet cut stem plays remarkably well with light. we recommend using them by candlelight. There are multiple examples of knopped stem. baluster stem. and balustroid stem gin glasses.
