Condition : Very good. There is a 2mm x2mm shallow chip in the wear line on the underside of the foot. *

If we were to have the chip “polished” out then the diameter would be reduced to 7.0cms or a little less as the foot is actually trimmed. then polished. Such “restoration” is destructive but it is obfuscated by restorers and those in the trade via the application of artificial wear.

The chip is simply wear and tare . the result of normal usage. Despite the commercial advantages to trimming and polishing we prefer that any item retains its integrity and that we preserve our own. We will be making such restoration even more transparent and writing an exposé or two in the coming weeks. We have already started taking images before any item is restored by ourselves. such that it makes the extent of the restoration obvious.
