Production methods of candlesticks changed in the 18th century. The stem was cast in one piece with a removable core. This enabled much finer castings and multi faceted shapes.They were cast in a two piece mould. The “flash” seams are evident on the pieces. a good indicator production technique and age.

These neo-classical styles were popular from 1765 onwards. The hollow core casting technique also changed the method of extracting candle stumps.
