A very substantial pair of George III silver candlesticks from Sheffield makers Smith. Tate & Co and carrying the date letter for 1818. Decorated in early Regency style with melon fluted borders interspersed with scallops and acanthus leaves.

The removable sconces are clearly hallmarked with matching date and maker’s marks.
