Decoration : These faithfully replicate George II style candlesticks from third quarter of the 18th century

Condition : Some dings and small bruises around the square bases. One sconce has been replaced with an 18th century example

In the late 19th and early 20th century there was a resurgence of interet in the elegance of Georgian style. The sheraton revival of the Edwardian period being the best known. The fashion was pervarise and impacted upon not only furniture design. The candlesticks are loaded with resin. this was standard practice to improve stability.
