Description
Flight and Barr Worcester Armorial Porcelain Plate c1830
We have been unable to trace the family to whom the crest relates. Thre are numerous options. this was a widely used motif. There is however something quite witty about having an arm holding a knife printed upon a plate. this may simply parody a diner above the plate itself.
The plate has a gadrooned rim . the gilding being in good order with an inner gilded contour. FBB printed mark and impressed FBB and crown as shown. This is precisely the type of antique that should be used. try serving foil wrapped cholcolates or christmas pudding ! There is one minor bit of damage. a small flake on the underside of the plate on the edge of the rim measures 1/4 inches ( about 7mm) . This is shown in the images is reflected in the price
10 1/4 inches diammeter ( 26cms)
