Description

18th Century New Hall Tea Bowl and Saucer. There is a painters tally mark located on the base of saucer along with the painter’s number “30”. This is a variation of pattern number 338. see  ‘New Hall’ by David Holgate. page 76 plate number 39 for a colour variation. The decoration has an undulating line interrupted by sprays containing a pink rose. The centre of both the saucer and bowl has a wheel painted in orange. mauve. pink and blue. Floral sectors containing pink roses. orange pimpernels and leaves painted in two shades of green with a mauve garland rim border. gilding highlights both the rim of the bowl and foot rim.

No chips. cracks or retsoration. The saucer is 5 3/8th inches diameter and the tea bowl is 3 1/4 diameter and 2 1/16th high
