References : This appears to be the third version of a figure featuring Juno and eagle upon a double and elaborate scroll form base and one of the largest ever produced at the Bow factory. This version on a lower scroll base was paired with that of Neptune emblematic of Water.

See Bow Porcelain Figures 1748-1774, page 193, plate 203 for the lower scroll pair. Invariably modelled with an attendant Peacock the Eagle shown here is representing the god Jupiter/Zeus, her husband, in a transformed guise.
