Reference :The matt glaze employed on this vase post dates 1910 and often referred to generically as Rhodian albeit this is actually the name of a pattern decorated in similar matt colours. The Little House motif is derived fom the elaborate arched entrance dated 1609 of the early leper hospital. The archway today is the entrance to the Gouda Museum.
