Heading :  A late 17th Century Dutch Delft Lobed Dish
Date : 1680-1700
Marks : Painted 2 or Z
Origin : Delft. Dutch Republic
Colour : Polychrome
Pattern : A swan within a lake side landscape. The border banded with trailing tulips and flowers on a lobed rim
Condition : Good with some fritting to the rim and a 2cm rim flake to underside as shown
Restoration None
Dimensions : Diameter 33.5cms
Weight : 1154g

Eric Knowles Comments. Despite the flake chip this dish is a remarkable survivor. they are almost invariably cracked and severely chipped. The yellow enamel was the nearest at the time of manufacture that could be achieved to approximate to patriotic orange.
