Peter Layton studied at Bradford College of Art and the Central School of Art and Design London. During the mid-1960’s. whilst teaching ceramics at the University of Iowa. he chanced upon glass blowing. On his return to England he set up a small glass blowing studio at a pottery in Scotland and a glassblowing department at Hornsey College of Art. In 1976 he established his London Glass Blowing workshop in Rotherhithe where he worked with and trained many glass artists including Siddy Langley.
