19th Century Bristol Blue Ketchup Condiment Bottle

Bowl Features : KETCHUP gilded within floral gilded label 
Pontil : Polished  
Glass Type : Lead
Size : 4 3/4 inches tall and approx. 1 1/2 inches in diameter
Condition : Excellent. no chips or cracks. some minor rubbing to the gilding as shown
Restoration : None
Weight: 170 grams

We have found several period recipes for ketchup. It was more likely to have been made from walnuts or mushrooms or anchovies than tomatoes with heaps of added sugar. Here is one from Mrs Beeton that nees to be attempted
