We went to the sale at Bonhams today. It was good to see the room busy and some very healthy prices being achieved on glassware. We did remark on the sheer quantity of chipped items on sale and the excellent thorough condition reports made available. A small chip in the Bonhams world is anything up to 7mm. it then becomes a chip. Perhaps terminology should be standardised and adjectives removed.

It will be interesting to read the new statements of condition when these reappear on the market. We hope that the verb restored will be much in evidence.
