Body : Cylindrical body with a long neck with a swell. Flared and folded rim
Glass Type : Soda-lime
Size : 15.2cm tall and 6cm in diameter
Condition : No chips or cracks

The encrustation can be cleaned away but we were advised against doing this by the owner. Collectors of ancient glass prefer both iridescence and encrustation as marks of authenticity. Early Byzantine glass mirrored Roman glass. Byzantine glass blowers within Turkey. Syria and Palestine developed their own styles as the eastern Roman empire. or Byzantium if you prefer continued long after the demise of founding Rome.
