Ehrenfeld glass from Cologne were masters of producing glass in medieval and early styles. A passglass ( matching glass) is usually decorated with a series of horizontal bands. These would be used to measure what had been consumed possibly during a drinking game. The German equivalent of “taking you down a peg or two”
