The outline of the leaves has been engraved in a series of very fine parallel lines by machine. The veins in the leaves have been engraved by hand. The matt area within the leaves is acid etched. The result gives the perception of depth to the decoration.
This complex technique was devised by Northwood. The exact same form was also used for multiple designs that are known to be Northwood. On the balance of probabilities we may this confidently attribute this to John Northwood.
On an academic technical level these are great glasses. Judged by aesthetics alone. they are sublime
