Description
A wonderful Victorian Water Jug which dates to c1870.
It has a facet cut strap handle and wide poring rim. There are slice cuts to the upper section and the bowl has molded ribs above and below a band of masonic engraving. It sits on a star cut base.
The engravings are a mallet and trowel in saltire. the moon and stars. a temple altar. the sun. a triangle and plumb line and the crossed swords of Tyler with a star of David around the letter G above the 7 temple steps.
All engraving sits on a continuous band of engraved square floor. It is the only masonic engraved jug we have seen in 10 years. No chips. cracks or restoration.
It measures 7 inches tall.
