A very handsome early George II lidded tankard from London silversmith William Darker. Of very good proportions. this tankard has excellent weight. a broadly swept double C scroll handle and perfectly fitting domed lid. The hallmarks on the lid and base match. It has a tapered cylinder shape with a girdle. This is an excellend gauge on silver with a sturdy thumb-piece. The hinge is in excellent condition.
