Pattern : Smith’s Blue – blue moulded foliate decoration with gilt detailing.
Condition : There is a triangular flake to the glaze in the enamel on the cover and a little wear to the gilding on the high points. The cover has undergone modern professional restoration. Three very fine cracks converge on the finial and they traverse the entire cover. This is best seen in the images. unusually the restoration does not show up with ultra violet light.
