Decoration : The rounded and flat-ended lid has an image of oak leaves bounded with continuous keylines; further banded keylines frame a narrow geometric-pattern band; Has a mixed floral Berlin Wool-work frieze to all four flat sides with banded and continuous keylines. Lined with blue satin.
Size : 24.2 cm wide – 9.9 cm deep – 8.6 cm high
Condition : Good with regard to tile completeness – some patches of two or three contiguous missing tesserae; one minor indentation to the rear face of the lid and one tiny patch of lacquer loss. entirely commensurate with age; working key; there is extensive use of green oak tesserae throughout.
Restoration : Professionally cleaned and polished; the silk lining is a replacement
