Decoration : Two different five-square geometric bands set within continuous and banded key-lines; plain veneers to the side faces of the box; edge veneers
Size : 10.2 x 6.1 x 1.9 cms when assembled
Condition : Excellent; tesserae are complete; some very fine grain splits on one of the larger side veneers
Restoration : none
Weight : 40 grams
Note : The construction of the box – with its stained boxwood lining – suggests that this is the work of Boyce. Brown & Kemp in the latter part of the 19th century
