Condition : Excellent. no missing tesserae. some scattered scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. There are some fine gaps between some tesserae within the cartouche

Weight : 60 grams
The signature green oak suggests the hand of Thomas Barton in the design of this piece. This piece is most likely either from his period working under Edmund Nye or soon after he took control of the business following Nye’s death in 1862.The identical image set within the cartouche has been found on other pieceswith Barton labels.
