Body : Panels of diamond cutting bordered by prism and pillar cuts.

Size : 3 ½ inches tall and approx. 5 3/8 inches in diameter including the ears

Additional Information : Such pieces often illustrate by their carful workmanship and construction and design a real purpose . Eared bowls are also referred to as ice pails. vessels  into which chilled (iced) desserts were served. It is most unlikely that ice – as in present day contemporary sense – would have been used in such a vessels. though it would be perfectly suited for such a purpose. The handles simply prevented the contents being warmed by touch. This “miniature” eared bowl would be suitable for use as a salt. mustard or condiment.
