18th Century Glass Charger With Engraved Rim

Heading : 18th century glass serving dish with engraved rim
Date : Mid 18th century
Period : First half 18th century
Origin : England, possibly the Low Contries
Colour : Clear with smokey blue hue
Bowl : Moulded base. The underside of the rim engraved with fruiting vines in the rococo style
Glass Type : Low lead
Size : 2.9cm tall and 25.3cm in diameter
Condition : Excellent
Restoration : None
Weight : 480 grams

Such a dish would have been used for serving food on only the most important of occasions. The underside of the rim was engraved to make it easy to clean after use.
