Description
A Georgian opaque twist wine glass c1760 with a lipped ogee bowl above a double series opaque twist stem consisting of a 21-ply spiral band outside a pair of spiral threads. Conical foot snapped pontil.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 inches tall with a 2 inch stem and 2 9/16 inch foot. It has a small annealing fault in the foot around 3/8 inch which can be seen in the pictures. This can sometimes happen in the glass cooling process as thermal stresses build up betwen the cooled surface and warmer interior of the glass. This is not damage and it does not affect value.
