During the 15th century. England still ruled over large parts of France. albeit contested. Conflicts at home only managed to distract the Lancastrian kings briefly during the Wars of the Roses (fight for the throne of England between the houses of Lancaster and York) from the Hundred Years War (further strife between England and France). This period saw such historic episodes as: the Battle of Agincourt. the Siege of Orleans where Joan of Arc raised the morale of the French troops and a final end to the Hundred Years War. The French coinage at that time. was somewhat neglected by the English and changed very little through the three reigns of the Henry’s IV. V and VI making hard to separate the coinage plus the fact that they were all. unimaginatively. called Henry.
