Condition: Fine. reverse slightly off centre

Obverse: Crowned facing bust. RICARD REX AnGL (fishtail lettering)

Reverse: Long cross with three pellets in each quarter. CIVI TAS LOn DOn

Features and Provenance: Richard was born in Bordeaux. France in 1367. his father was Edward ‘the Black Prince’. He became king at the age of 10 but was too young to take full responsibility of the post. so his uncle. John of Gaunt was his aid. He did quell an uprising during the ‘Peasant’s Revolt’ in 1381 and for thst gained the people’s admiration. After struggling with mental health issues. he was forced to abdicate but conspirators imprisoned him in Pontefract Castle. where he died in 1400.

Extremely Fine (EF). Very slight traces of wear. all parts of legend etc present. visible and clear

Very Fine (VF). Some signs of wear on the higher parts of the relief. all parts of legend etc present. but maybe worn
