Features and Provenance:
The legionary series of coins. issued by Antony whist in the Eastern Mediterranean. declares his respect for his legions by placing their name on these famous and sought after coins. The Legio or legion III was given the name ‘Cyrenaica’ for overseeing the area in Greece. They were later active in Africa. particularly Arabia and records show they were still in evidence in Syria in the beginning of the 5th century.
